Clothoid

The curvature of the clothoid is proportional to its length. This has two consequences: It’s parametrization involves the infamous Fresnel integrals, and it is an actually useful curve, used in road design. Lifting it to a space curves gives decent Björling surfaces.

Maybe these can be used for mountain roads.
